Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR
Daniil Sulimov joined the Bolshevik party at the age of 15 in 1905. In 1918-1919 he worked for the Supreme Council of People's Economy and as the Perm municipal council chairman. In 1919 he was a member of the presidium of the Samara regional council of people's economy. He served as political commissar in the Red Army during the Civil War and then headed the Chelyabinsk party organization. Sulimov was elected to the Party Central Committee in 1921 as candidate member (1921-23) and in 1923 as full member (1923-37). In 1923 Sulimov headed the executive council of the large industrial Urals province. In 1926 he went into full-time party work as secretary of the the Urals party organization. Sulimov's long service was recognized by the party leaders and he was made first deputy (1927-1930) to the USSR people's commissar of transport Yan Rudzutak. Accordingly, he was elected full member (Apr. 16, 1927 - June 26, 1930) of the Orgburo. Though he lost his seat in this body after the 16th party congress, on November 3, 1930, Sulimov became chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian SFSR.

The Central Committee plenum, held in Jun 1937, expelled from party Sulimov and other key politicians. Sulimov was arrested on June 27, 1937, and sentenced to death on Nov. 27, 1937. His political rehabilitation was granted in 1956.
