The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is a federal public authority, which carries out governmental administration in the field of relations of the Russian Federation with foreign states and international organizations. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is within the jurisdiction of the President of the Russian Federation in the issues assign to for the President of the Russian Federation by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, or according to the acts of the Russian Federation.
Primary objectives of the Ministry ofForeign Affairs of the Russian Federation:
1) development of the general strategy of foreign policy of the Russian Federation and submission of appropriate suggestions to the President of the Russian Federation;
2) realization of foreign policy of the Russian Federation;
3) coordination of international relations of the subjects of the Russian Federation;
4) maintenance by means of diplomacy of sovereignty, safety, territorial integrity, and protection of other interests of the Russian Federation at international scene;
5) protection of rights and interests of citizens and legal persons of the Russian Federation abroad;
6) maintenance of diplomatic and consular relations of the Russian Federation with foreign states and international organizations;
7) coordination of activity and control of other federal public authorities with a view of maintenance of realization of a general political line of the Russian Federation in relations with foreign states and international organizations
